new washer & dryer

Our new washer and dryer finally arrived!!! Laundry has never been so much fun. Riley likes them too. She can see her reflection and watch the clothes go around. Riley even gave them a kiss (as we all did :)

Christmas

Christmas at the Dojo happened a few days early this year. McKenna had to fly back to Wyoming on Christmas Eve, so we opened presents on the 23rd.

McKenna helped Riley open her presents.






McKenna got a stereo that she can use with her Ipod. It's pretty loud. We'll see how it goes over the summer :)



Riley got a rocking Tigger. She's not too sure about it yet.



Jason got me a Snuggie for Christmas. The girls were trying it out for me.

GingerBread Night

Last night all the girls made a gingerbread house. Riley just supervised!



McKenna made a nice candy path in the front.



This is the back of the house, Grams was responsible for this. (there was wine involved)



Krista did the frosting and McKenna was in charge of the candy roof design.

McKenna & Riley

Riley and McKenna are back together. Here's a song for Gramps who couldn't join us for Christmas. We miss you!!!

what we've been up to

we've been pretty busy lately. we had a small party for Riley's birthday on the 21st. Aunt Molly (seen below) made Riley a bear cake, since she's Riley-bear. we were quite amazed at it.





Riley has gotten more interested in the puppies, especially Mikka. Riley has been leaning over trying to kiss her. Mikka likes Riley, and she laughs. Riley sometimes loves Mikka a little too much. Mikka has been a good sport about it and suffers through.

big girl!

Riley, being the big one year old she is, has graduated to the big girl car seat! She gets to turn around and see the world. We started off a little shaky though. Riley has starting saying 'bye.' After I put her in the car, she said 'bye!' I said bye back, and made her cry. Then on the way to day care, she was trying to figure out how to get out of the car seat since I was obviously right there and tourturing her as she just sat helplessly. The last couple days have been better. I think she's getting the hang of it.

the babus birthday

Today is Riley's birthday! She wore her birthday girl shirt to daycare that Aunt Molly got her.



Once we got home, Riley opened her presents from Gramms, Gramps, Meemaw and Papa. For some reason, the video of that isn't loading. I'll keep trying. Gramms and Gramps got Riley some puppets which we'll have lots of fun with. Jason is already trying to scare the puppies with them. Meemaw and Papa got Riley a doll and some clothes. Riley pulled the baby out, and bit her face. Riley of course enjoyed the box, wrapping paper, and cards the best.

After dinner, we gave Riley a cupcake.





Towards the end she was getting tired and got cupcake all over. She took a bath.

Riley and Daddy have discovered a couple new games.

random stuff

Well, this morning we took the babus to get tubes put in her ears. We arrived at 6:00 am, and waited until 8:30. Riley wasn't allowed to eat, but did very good. Of course as we were waiting, everyone stopped to say hi and tell us how cute she is.

Last Friday was Boss's Day. My great department took me to lunch and got me some balloons. Riley had some fun chasing them around the house.



Riley loves getting into the basket that holds her diapers. She particularly likes the diaper rash cream for some reason.



And lastly, Riley has been interested in feeding herself lately. I let her have a try the other day. Eating the spoon, Riley has figured out. Eating the food on the spoon is still a challenge.

Riley rediscovered her basketball the other night, and walked around with it for the evening. I'm not sure if she wants to get the basketball all in her mouth, or just likes to try.
