Riley Jean Curtis

Riley was born on 11/11/2008 at 8:16pm (Veteran's Day Baby!). She weighed in at 6lbs 15oz and was 20 inches long. She is the current super-fly weight infant champion of the world. She beat the baby from room #247 by flying armbar at 2:15 in the first round.

The day began at 4:00 am, get up and ready to head down to the hospital to be induced. Riley's due date was set at the 9th and she didn't come. After Krista was induced we really saw no action all day. Contractions were coming and going and Krista was a real trooper but Riley just was not coming! This could mean she is like her daddy, STUBBORN! Or, it could mean that she is like her mommy and was very comfortable and not wanting to change.

We discussed things with the Doc and decided to go for the C-Section. Riley came out and it was a very emotional room, she is a beauty. (I planned on having some pics up but I don't have the delete-computer attachment I need so I should be adding some pics tonight when I go home to feed the puppy's.) Fortunately for us, Riley looks like her mommy, beautiful!!!!!! She was healthy, good skin, dark hair and it looks like really dark blue eyes, we'll see if those change over the 1st couple weeks.

Both mom and baby are doing great! Trying to rest as much as possible and can't wait to get home.

Krista did an amazing job, she is tough as nails. She wanted to go without the epideral for as long as she could and see how that went. She made it right up until we were about to move toward the C-Section. I could not be more proud of her!
