They demandeeeeeeeeeeeed, a gardenry!

After I created the gardenry they demanded another sacrifice.......Another gardenry! Only this time slightly higher so they get the two level effect with a little path down the middle (A PATH!).

Apparently now I have to cut down the mightiest tree in the forrest with a herring.

The Radish

If you've been following the garden you probably already know that despite all logic and reason I seem to be a champion radish farmer. At this point every is growing very well, beyond our expectations. The radishes though, those guys have just taken off. I decided to pick one today.

All our other veggies aren't at the point where they are producing yet, we figure a few more weeks on those. I've never had radish before and I'm not around them a bunch but I think this is the biggest one I've ever seen. Krista's reaction was "holy crap!"

If you like radishes and you are in the area, I think I have about 15 of these that I can either pick now or let them continue to grow. I have this feeling that if I let them continue they may take over the world some day.

More from the Seattle Zoo

On Sunday we took Riley to the Woodland Park Zoo in Seattle. Cost $0.00 since we are members of the Nashville Zoo so that was a pretty cool deal.
One of the 1st things we came across were the flamingo's. Now if you've never been to the zoo with me I find it pretty funny to make my dolphin noise to the animals. I get a great reaction from some of the animals. I wish I was filming when I did it at the Aquarium because the seals bolted when I made the noise. This was take 2 of the flamingos, I didn't expect the reaction I got the 1st time. They all spun around and yelled at me, this one got a little reaction but not much.

Gorilla eating some broccoli.

Riley did enjoy crawling all over everything around the zoo, this boat was outside the penguin area.

Komodo dragon!

Couldn't get much of the lions because they were chomping away on something.

Right turn Clyde!

Komodo dragon for Riley to climb on.

Riley on a hippo.

Bear.

Riley Feeding the Birds

We have more pictures from the zoo in Seattle, but for now take a look at this. It does start a bit slow but the payoff at the end is worth it.

Garden Update

Thought we'd take some new pictures.  You will quickly tell that I have been out of town for over a week.  Did some weeding in the raised garden but the rest will not be done until the weekend.  All in all everything we planted is growing.  Hopefully we can keep that going and have a ton of fresh veggies.    Now where did I put that Mac & Cheese plant????????

You may or may not be able to identify 3 rows of corn here.   :)

Here are the tomato plants, getting bigger and bigger.

Tomato.

Here are the pepper plants, in the upper right you may notice a short row of radishes.

Here is the other row of radishes.   These really took off on us, the only reason we planted them is because they are supposed to keep bugs off the cucumbers?    I guess I'll be trying those here pretty soon.

Krista tells me there are some carrots among the weeds here.

I assure you, this next one is broccoli.

Zuch-zilla.   The Zuchinni was started last and dwarfs pretty much everything else in the garden.

2 rows of green beans, this is another one that has really taken off.

Seattle Aquarium

Today was a fun day in Seattle. After a day of travel that involved Riley throwing up on the 1st leg of the trip, the 2nd leg of the trip and in the rental car. What a great traveler she is. Today we ventured off to the aquarium and the Pike's market area in downtown.

Right off the bat there is a tidal pool area that features real waves.

YouTube Video

Riley was able to get up close and personal and touch quite a few tide pool ocean life.

That is a BIG fish.

awwww, he's just 3.5 months old. I wanted to take him home and put hiim in the pool but Krista said no. :(

Here's baby and momma.

This is the grams of the Seattle Aquarium otter world.

Here are some seals.

The view from the aquarium.

This is called a "big skate". It was dark in that room so he doesn't come out real good but he's kind of shaped like a sting ray. You should be able to make out his face here. Krista is convinced that at some point this was a real person and through some kind of sorcery he was turned into a skate. Such personality. I tried a couple of times to get a picture with his mouth open because he seemed to be saying "help me".

Riley then convinced Grams to take her on the carousel.
